The Deserter
A creative combination of Sharp North and The Matrix, this Peadar Ó Guilín book works well as a stand-alone novel even though it is a sequal. The characters are shockingy authentic and the world is well-developed and complete. I would recommend this story to high school and college students who enjoy sci-fi or dystopic novels. It is a much faster read than its length suggests.
